Cherrybrook Christian Care Centre

This project involved the extension and joining together of two existing adjoining aged care facilities, the Bethshean Nursing Home (designed by SBArchitects) and Yurana House, to form the Cherrybrook Christian Care Centre located within the Elouera Gardens Retirement Village.

The ground floor of the new extension provides the link between the two facilities and includes 12 dementia specific care residential rooms located around a secure and enclosed garden, an extension of the community room with a new accessible entrance and connections to the existing buildings.

The dementia care area is self contained with dedicated lounge, dining, care facilities and a secure garden. All service areas are accessible by staff from a back corridor allowing food, linen and other services to be delivered and removed without accessing secure resident areas.

A lift provides access to the first floor which accommodates 12 low care residential rooms together with lounge, dining and care facilities. A ramp provides access from this level to the upper part of the site giving it a connection to the adjoining self care units and apartments.
