Lake Haven Aged Care

Situated in close proximity to the shores of Lake Budgewoi, the Lake Haven Aged Care Facility has been designed to maximize its northern orientation and to reflect the coastal character of the area. The building makes the most of a sloping site where significant drainage and fauna issues had to be overcome with an expert team of consultants.

The building has also retained its bushland setting with many significant trees being retained and drought tolerant, native grasses a feature of the landscape design.

In addition to the 30 low care resident suites, the facility accommodates 10 dementia care residents in a secure wing, palliative care rooms and administration offices, together with recreational facilities that are central to the active community lifestyle encouraged there.

Longevity of service was a key concept for the client and this foresight saw the inclusion of generously sized bedrooms and common areas. We carried this theme over into the material selections and into the finer detailing, to produce a building that was both cost effective to construct and to maintain, yet one that does not compromise on quality or on its open, sun drenched character.
