Amity at North Rocks

The frontage of this facility is to a suburban residential street and the new building extensions have been designed to present as a series of houses reflecting the size, scale, modulation and diversity of colour and materials of the adjoining residences.

To maintain this residential scale and appearance the new covered drive through entrance and car parking areas have been located within the site away from the street.

The bold use of colour and materials has also been extended to the interior decor of the building giving it a contemporary home-like atmosphere for its 72 residents.

A bushland reserve located adjacent to the rear boundary of the site necessitated that the building design also incorporate the requirements of the bushfire building regulations in addition to meeting the requirements of the Building Codes and Commonwealth’s Certification Instrument for aged care residential facilities.
